Carbon Steel Plates

ASTM A455/A455M covers high-strength manganese carbon steel plates for fusion-welded boilers and pressure vessels. It is the product companion to ASME SA-455/SA-455M. It is not fine-grain carbon plate (A516 / SA516), not manganese-silicon plate (A299 / SA299), and not quenched-and-tempered alloy plate (A517 / SA517). SHH STEEL supplies A455 as mill-direct plate and dual-certifies ASME SA455 when the vessel must be stamped to ASME Section VIII. Typical delivery follows ASTM A20 / ASME SA-20, with normalizing specified when required by thickness or the purchase order. Certificates are EN 10204 3.1, with 3.2 available on request.
