ASTM A573 / A573M covers structural carbon-manganese-silicon plates in three tensile ranges: Grade 58 [400], Grade 65 [450] and Grade 70 [485]. The plates are intended for atmospheric-temperature service where improved notch toughness is needed, commonly storage tanks. Maximum thickness is 1.5 in [40 mm]. Fully killed, fine-grain practice.
