AISI 309 offers a significant improvement in oxidation resistance and high-temperature capability over a240 304 and a240 304l. Corrosion Resistance
AISI 309 provides excellent resistance to oxidation and scaling in air and oxidizing atmospheres at elevated temperatures. It also offers good resistance to atmospheric corrosion and many mild chemical environments at room temperature.

Weldability
