Corrosion Resistance
AISI 316F offers good resistance to atmospheric corrosion, fresh water and many mild chemical environments. The molybdenum addition provides better resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion than free-machining 303 grades. However, the sulfur additions reduce corrosion resistance compared with standard 316 or 316L, particularly in more aggressive chloride environments.

Weldability
